Harnessing Capricorn

Welcome to my first diary entry at Space of Center.
So happy to meet you here!
My name is Cecilia C. Rose, but you can call me C or C. Rose. I am the host of the podcast, The Harmony Channel, and the sovereign-publisher of my memoir, The Sound of Center.
I’m 47 years young and working towards my second career in this lifetime. My first was in knitwear design and self-publishing. Now, I’m focused on harmony. Exploring, studying, and shaping harmony from the inside out. If you’re curious what that means, so am I.
As the work unfolds, I’ll be sharing more here and on my podcast.

The New Year
Over the years, I’ve managed to leave behind the notion that January 1st is measured by a laundry list of resolutions. I’m guessing I’m not alone in this.
Then again, six years ago, I found this turning of the Gregorian calendar page helpful in a significant way.
On January 1st, 2019, I entered the door of sobriety, knowing it needed to be done, and I enjoyed the internal visual of an entire year, start to finish, clear of consuming alcohol. By the end of 2019, I had completely forgotten that the original intention was for only one year. The sobriety eventually melted into my regular routine, and I am grateful for this every day.
And so my feeling on New Year’s resolutions has been: if it works, it works. If the new year feels right for leaving behind harmful habits in favor of more nourishing ones, then hooray! I’ll toast to you with my mocktail in one hand and my maternal, encouraging gaze in the other.
Then this morning, something clicked. As I started writing about the Capricorn season in my diary, I realized that this energy is incredibly supportive for changing one’s habits.
Rock, moss, and snow
Capricorn brings with it: Earth, Cardinal, and Saturn energies.
Earth is grounding.
Cardinal is a doer.
Saturn is structured, hard work.
Mix these with a desire to BECOME—not better, but happier, aligned, and whole—and you’ve got yourself a recipe of supportive energies to aid in your becoming.
For me, I’m looking at where I am and where I’m looking to go right now, and what is a grounded path to getting there? I’m going to be digging into my diary as often as possible to stay in touch with the center, the hearth of my soul. And use the Cardinal and Saturn energy to finish a book I’ve been wanting to work on for years now.
No more procrastinating. I’m ready to make it happen.
